Hot air balloon lands in front yard

Chris Calley has ripper of excuse if he can’t hand in his maths homework, a hot air balloon landed at his house.

A Royal Australian Air Force hot air balloon unexpectedly landed on the front lawn of the Calley family’s home on Shardlow Loop, Carine in Western Australia.

The balloon, which is in Perth for the RAAF Base Pearce air show, was being piloted by RAAF Balloon Squadron Leader Damian Gilchrist.

Phil Calley was at home with his son Chris, who was upstairs completing his homework, when the balloon came down.

He said there was no warning before its sudden appearance, just metres from the house. The balloon has now been removed and the road reopened.

No one was injured and there was no damage to any property.
